I served as a national government official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 20 years. Throughout most of my career, I was engaged in China-related affairs, handling numerous security and crisis management issues such as the Senkaku Islands, maritime disputes, conflicts between Japanese companies and Chinese authorities, lockdowns, and information security. In addition, I played a key role in digital reforms for public relations related to China and spearheaded innovative initiatives such as the Japan-China Business Innovation Cooperation Forum, the Japan-China Young Entrepreneurs Ideathon, and the Suzhou Public-Private Dialogue.

However, as the world and Japan’s position within it continue to evolve, I recognized the need for a new approach to international relations. With this in mind, I decided to leave the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take on new challenges—leveraging my experience while breaking free from the constraints of government institutions to contribute more freely and effectively.

In recent years, the security environment in East Asia has become irreversibly more challenging, and international economic relations and business landscapes are undergoing significant changes. However, because we must continue to coexist indefinitely, I believe we should relentlessly pursue cooperation that protects and nurtures lives, fosters a prosperous growth environment for future generations, and drives exciting and creative collaboration.

The Asia-Pacific region is set to lead global growth in the coming years, with Japan positioned at its core. With this perspective in mind, we will continue our efforts to strengthen networks among innovative players worldwide, using Japan as a hub. Our goal is to help individuals and organizations navigate the fine balance between opportunities and challenges, making the best choices at every step.
